Just hit me! Migraines still getting worse

I looked at my last post title and it said four day migraine! and I followed with a six day migraine. Not sure if I am unique but medication is just a band-aid I hope more is not wrong with me but doctors just want a band-aid.

Have been busy, but I will be back!

Hello everyone, I am back on my Migraine medication and it has been contained for the most part. However, it was mostly contained until a week-long migraine burst my winning streak forcing me back on the pills.
Being extremely busy this semester has caused me to lose some valuable connections which caused migraines but ultimately, stress aside, being on a routine during and throughout the day has fought back most of my migraines.
My lesson of the day is, never ever get bored! These breaks for school I will have to stay busy especially winter and summer. That means no oversleeping.

Good day to you all I would love some feed back to all your painful needs and suggestions.

4 Day Migraine

This is the first time a migraine has lasted for 4 days. The odd part was I didnt sleep the whole time I tried to do things because I know too much sleep will keep it going. These have been getting worse over the years in terms on how long they have lasted. I am going to Contact some top specialist on some advice for me and who ever is watching.

The Nice Guy

Are Nice Guys Respected?

I had a conversation recently and I found out that some people do not believe that nice people are respected.

Isom Jacobs

It has come to my attention that nice guys are seen as passive-aggressive and weak. It was a sense as if being nice means being a door mat. The alternative was to be aggressive. In other words to be that aggressive respected person one must be give people a hard time on any disagreement. This is a "you don't have to like me but you will respect me." I only see this as people do not like you and they do not respect you, they may not always challenge you because to them you are just not worth it. The combative person is not the one who is respected just because they will fight you over anything and everything because they are aggressive.

Me being on the other side, I see people who are aggressive am I weak for not wanting to deal with them? Not even in a situation where these aggressive people are upset with me but being upset over things you cannot change. Sometimes you get frustrated and that is understandable, I cannot deal with someone who cannot control their anger. I am not a big fan of movies so I do not buy wolf-tickets.

Aggressive Black Man vs. Nice Man

I feel the pressured being a black man to become this aggressive man. We are called to be the protector, provider, the dominant force, and secure. I have seen women set up their own man for a confrontation with other men just to be protected. Mild to moderate jealously is viewed as a bit sexy and that he cares in my experience. I get told that it means that I am something worth protecting by women. I chose to trust her to do the right thing when I am not there, but if I am with someone who thinks what I have previously stated then it puts a stain on the trust. I say this because if a guy is pushing up on your woman and she thinks you do not care, what do you think will stop her then?

Another type of pressure that I have been put under as a black man is "putting your woman in her place." I am an adult so is the women I date. Enough said.

Migraine!

August 21, 2014

I woke up and went to sleep same time as everyday.
The night before I listened to a bit of music before I went to sleep that was a bit different.
I was a bit stressed over an argument in the romantic section of my life the day before.
Today I went home from work early...I helped my mother with some leaves and branches from a bush and it irritated my skin a lot. Also I did not eat very well today.

My morning meal was a sandwich peanut butter and jelly and a banana.

Afternoon: nothing.

Migraine started before my dinner but I had a burger and fries

My hypothesis: I went more than 6 hours without eating.

Possible triggers: sleeping pattern and today 6 hours without eating.

The Bandwagon, or a New Start

Seasonal Tragedy, Lifetime of Change

Support the outraged, do not discredit it

Isom Jacobs

With the recent events that has happened it is hard to ignore the other side of the outraged. To keep it simple I will explain the sides that I am talking about. There are the people who are outraged by an event and then there are the people who call the public outcry a trend. My view on the situation is that in order for change to happen public opinion has to change. These new supporters have to in fact be people who did not care or was not actors in the grand scheme.

I Think people should be supported when an injustice has be highlighted nationally because injustice happens everyday. For everyone I find there are 100s that I missed. Logic saying there is crime elsewhere everyday is probably by someone who has also done nothing and being a activist never crossed their mind. There is too much injustice to take on all at once. We we have the chance to fight I think we should take a trend into a habit.

I think if I did not want change I think it is important to keep public opinion the same. A great way to do that is by distraction. Lack of media coverage is a great way to keep a lot of people in the dark. When the media has to cover a topic you will almost certainly find a situation of a counter report. I found a report asking, where was the public figures and black activist on the crime in Chicago? Let me add that President Obama was mentioned, and let me also add that he has made comments about the crime in Chicago. However, the president's speech is probably old because crime in Chicago has been around longer than I have been alive.

The Media is pitching Chicago as if its as bad as it ever been.

The crime rate has drastically dropped steadily in the last 30 years. I am not trying to excuse the crime now but take a look at how the media is covering Chicago nation wide now. Not locally, the reason why many people from Chicago stopped watching the news is because many people grew up every night with someone being shot. Constant local coverage of shootings over years can really desensitize people. To not be accused of generalizing, I will say as a kid I conditioned myself to not watch the news. I was a kid and how can a kid take knowing that in a few years you will be of age to choose to pick up a gun for the cause of a organization from Chicago. To sum this section, I would say if you package Chicago as if the crime is new then it will feel new.

Chicago Safer Than Iraq?

My friends from other states are now afraid to come here yet only know of what the media says. That is a problem, I am downtown everyday for work and a lot of rich people walking along side me yet I saw on the news that its more dangerous to be downtown Chicago then in Iraq. That has to be the most misleading information I have ever heard.

Trained troops are safer anywhere than the average person! I am downtown everyday unarmed, people go to a battle field armed to the teeth. This is one of those cases of misleading by omission by using a relative example. The arctic tundra is much colder than Chicago per year on average, but that does not mean you head to Chicago's beach in December for a tan because its warmer than a frozen tundra. Crime is bad in Chicago, but I think the media is spreading fear more than solutions. We cannot take back our communities if we are afraid of the same community. We cannot stop police from shooting us if we are afraid or discouraged from taking a stand! Lastly we cannot as a individual fight every battle, but as a culture of people we can pick our battle and support the others! The Navy supports the Air Force get it?

8/16 Journal

August 16, 2014 Migraine Journal

Headache free but came off a two day headache

Saturday first day of the weekend

New Journal for invertebrates on the lookout

Today I pretty much ate chicken all day. Not to be the ultimate insult of a stereotypical guy in love with fried chicken but I got some from a local food place and later my mother order some for me and my sister's trunk party. I did not see that second meal coming. Ha, Ha.

I ate two meals, which is my usual amount. I went to sleep at 11 and rose 9:10 am. I make sure I am going to note that fried chicken does not seem like a trigger for me. I was told that poultry might be a major trigger for me by a teacher when I was in high school. I am starting to wonder if that is a trigger for anyone of was I dissed. Ha, maybe not... or more so hopefully not.

The last few days was a blur and I did not have internet to record my migraine. I will dig up any off line journals that I have done.

I am Going to do a weekly sum of my daily activities and monthly summaries to further identify trends. Be on the lookout for a invertebrate Journal that I will link that blog on this page.

Serve and protect ourselves

Police vs The People and The Criminals?

Subject Switch on recent justice concerns

If the cops and the people look like both enforcers and criminals

Not to be the guy to hop on a popular topic but it is very hard to say this does not effect me because I am black. I will keep this short and sweet on this bitter topic. I know there is a really good chance this cop will get off but one of two things will happen. The people who it does not really effect will get upset and over time this will be in the back of their head as we have had so many situations of injustice sadly my people too well adapted to it.

The ones who this does deeply effect, this could kill the remaining trust in the police force. This can drive up the crime rate if people decide to take the law into their own hands.

I understand that the police needs to be given the benefit of the doubt because more police will die ten fold if they are afraid to use their weapon. This is a situation that we do not want the police force to look weak but we do not want them to look like a tyrant. Putting in a system to protect the police in situations has its utility however "systems" are usually easily broken especially in this country at least according to my opinion. Lets not forget what this post is opinion.

Lastly do we need to serve and protect ourselves more now as people who are not police. The only back fire is well you can let your mind wonder if we have to rely less on cops and more on ourselves for justice. I think it needs to be done but one side will go on a bounty hunters and vigilantes or people more involved in the political process. I personally want to get rid of every politician.

Found out something interesting about Migraines. New to me but I have been reading.

Research while my Internet was down

Something I stumbled on will finding more out about Myself and my Migraines

I recently checked out a book called Headaches 47 ways to stop the pain, by Charles B. Inlander & Porter Shimer Copyright 1995.
The pain that I have is under the category of Vascular Headaches, the migraine. After finding a link on my blog (the migraine links on the side) a site called the New Bury Port News I found some other information that says it is much more complicated than a Vascular Headache, this article was written by Bob Keller. Here are a few interesting quote word for word from the website and the link at the end. This article date is August 15 2014.

"Bob Keller is a certified pain relief practitioner in Newburyport.

He can be reached at 978-465-5111 or bob@myokineast.com"

(New Bury Port News).

"Within the last decade or so, improved research tools have shown

the process to be more complex and mainly neuronal rather than

vascular. The new hypotheses represent a work-in-progress not yet

consistent enough properly to be called a theory. The trigger event

is now understood to cause an electrical disturbance that spreads

over the surface of the brain, accounting for the aura. If the

spreading is below the surface, then no aura is apparent. This event

is named cortical spreading depression" (New Bury Port News).

In the article Bob Keller describes Migraines as a syndrome rather

than a disease like another book I checked out called Living Well

with Migraine Disease and Headaches by Teri Robert. This book

was Copyrighted 2005. it is interesting how quickly science

changes

and throughout these 19 years I have suffered under migraines and

I wonder what they will change about how they are seen now.

This is my update to what I have been doing while working and

working on controlling my pain.

Photo of the Day

This is an introduction to my photo of the day from my photography sector. to break up the talks on grinding the grain of my migraine. This shot reminds me of brawn is not always a symbol of power, power can also be in beauty. Art should be expressed, do not get caught in waking up and going home everyday. I try my best to do some of my art and I take it seriously even if others do not. Enjoy life and smile. :)

Today I woke up with enough energy to get the day started. I woke up around 6:30 a.m but I laid in bed until 7 a.m. so I had enough time to let my mind unwind. My nephew was playing with me in his usually rough housing. He is strong but he is only 4 years old. Work started off well, however the higher-ups came to observe on one of the busy days. My part of the job that would have been routine has become a hard task by a few things I could not control like larger than normal orders on a normally busy day and miss communication with finding the right people. Nothing seemed to trigger the migraine, physical stress do not seem to be my major causes. However mental stress seem to be the trigger and today at work I had my first test. The agitated customer put my mind a bit through a loop. I honestly lost focus pretty bad. I also notice about myself that when I am criticized and stared at while I work not only do I lose focus really bad but it has a lingering affect. After the rush things calmed down and I was praised for working hard by the higher-ups which eased any feelings of job jeopardy.

After work I stayed later to talk to my best friend and at a small snack. The two oranges the lays and soft drink. Another friend came and we had a good conversation for a few hours before parting ways at my place of work. Me and my friend had a good conversation, usually on conceptual things on life. This is usually a stress free way for me to sharpen my mind and further develop my view on life while getting another angle for things.

I made it home had dinner and now I am writing everyone happy  that I am migraine free. Though knowing I will have to do this again tomorrow adds more stress for work before the next day even started. something about the concept of work mentally adds stress to my  mind. Knowing that I cannot sleep in adds stress so I try my best to go to sleep early so I would naturally wake up early. I always beat my alarm clock.

I hope this helps. I may have not had migraine today but there may be a pattern in today that could curse me to have one tomorrow.

Reviews are coming!

Do not forget the news feed on the side about Migraines!

Also I will be doing a review on this Medication Sumatriptan! I have been taking it for a bit and I have an interesting view on this one. it will be a video and it will be coming soon along with reviews on the types of food that I will try to curve the pain.
Please send your comments my way I would love to know some others who are also fighting my battle!

Migraine log J23

Today's migraine started in the morning on my way to work. the interesting thing was I did eat that day in the morning. I hate pasta with cheese and jerk chicken. This being a different meal from the last few days I will put that on a lower scale for the trigger. I did sleep an extra hour today waking up at 7 and not the usual 5:30-6. The slight change in pattern could be a cause but it seems to slight. This migraine was gone by the time 1 p.m. rolled by.

My medication: Sumatiptan 100 mg
Weather: 73 (was much hotter the day before also had a migraine that day)
Sleep: 7 Hours
Meal: Jerk Chicken, pasta with cheese  (meal around the time of the migraine)
